2017 Awarding Ceremony of the Chinese Government Outstanding International Student Scholarship held in Guizhou Minzu University

On April 13, the Awarding Ceremony of the Chinese Government Outstanding International Student Scholarship in the year of 2017 was held at the Conference Room in No.15 Teaching Building in the Huaxi district of Guizhou Minzu University. Deputy Secretary of Party Committee Zhang Pengcheng, Vice President Wei Wei, Deputy Dean of School of International Education Xia Jingang, Director of Office of Academic Affairs Zhang Hong, all the teachers of Office of International Exchange and Cooperation and School of International Education and all the international students attended the conference.

The Ministry of Education has established the Chinese Government Outstanding International Student Scholarship since 2015, which is to recognize outstanding international students with outstanding scientific research capabilities and outstanding academic performance. In 2017, all the three students recommended by GZMU have been awarded the scholarship. They are Li Ke, a Laos student studying statistics, Wang Junbo, a Laos student studying environmental engineering and Jin Hanfa, a Cambodian student studying business administration. The total amount of award reaches 78,000 yuan.

Li Ke delivered a speech

Li Ke, one of the award-winners coming from Laos, said that without the concern and love of the teacher, he cannot achieve this result. He said that he will work harder to live up the expectations of the Chinese government and Guizhou Minzu University, and make contributions to the development of Laos and the friendship between China and Laos.

Wang Junbo delivered a speech

Wang Junbo, a graduate student from Laos, said that the longer he studied in Guizhou Minzu University, the more he became interested in learning Chinese and attracted by the charm of Chinese culture. Over the past three years, he has got three patents under the guidance of his school mentors. He said that only by continuous improvement, perseverance and bravery can we make greater achievements and create a better future.

Jin Hanfa delivered a speech

Jin Hanfa, an undergraduate from Cambodia, said that when he first came to China, he realized the importance of Chinese in learning. He passed various Chinese exams by continuously learning Chinese. In addition, he participated various activities to expand his knowledge and broaden his horizons. He said that people should set their goals and try hard to realize their dreams.

On behalf Guizhou Minzu University, Zhang Pengcheng extended congratulations to the three students. He hopes international students could serve as friendly messengers between China and their motherland, spread China’s outstanding culture to all parts of the world, and make great progress in the future.
