On May 21st, the Sino-German Cultural Ambassador, an alumna of GZMU and her delegation visited our university for exchange and had a discussion in the 1st meeting room in the administrative building in Huaxi Campus. Ms Wang Lan, Travelling Europe Artist, Dr. Irina Hundt, Professor of University of Technology and Economics Dresden, Dr. Dagmar Venohr, Professor of Europe-University of Flensburg, Ms Dagmar-yu Dembski, Executive Director of Confucius Institute at FU Berlin, Dr. Klaas Ruitenbeek, Director of the Asian Art Museum, Prof. Tang JIanrong, Deputy Secretary of Party Committee of GZMU and Dr. Prof. Wei Wei, Vice President of GZMU attended this meeting. The relevant learders of the Department of Publicity, the Civilization Office, the International Office, the College of Fine Arts, Department of Scientific Research and the Archives attended the meeting, which is hosted by Prof. Wei Wei.

Tang Jianrong welcomed MS Wang Lan and her delegation and introduced the history and general situation of our university. He hopes that Wang Lan will continue to be a good ambassador for Sino-German cultural exchanges. Through inheriting ethnic cultures, he hope to build a bridge between Chinese and German universities for communication and exchange. He hope that we can work together to jointly build the“Belt and Road” journey which become a trend of economic globalization. As the participants and collaborators, we are moving toward the goal of building a community of human destiny.

Ms Wang Lan introduced the development of German art and the Confucius Institute in Berlin. She said that China and Germany can jointly conduct research and discussion on culture and art, and believe that the artists of the two countries can collide with sparks of inspiration.

At the meeting, literary artists from both countries spoke freely. Representatives of the two sides exchanged exquisite souvenirs and thank each other.

After the meeting, Ms Wang Lan and her delegation accompanied by Fan Zhaoping, the vice Director of the School of Fine Arts , visited the school of Fine Artsl, and received an in-depth interviews with the media. She believes that the upgrading of the Guizhou Institute of Nationalities to the Guizhou Minzu University is a manifestation of the development of ethnic higher education. She will certainly work hard to be the ambassadors of the two countries cultures, and will spread the Chinese culture and the colorful ethnic culture of Guizhou to all parts of the world.

In the afternoon, the artists of our university and the German artists held academic exchange activities in the conference room on the second floor of the School of Fine Arts.

At the exchange meeting, Ms. Venohr gave a lecture entitled "Application of the National Elements in Fashion Design", respectively expounding the relationship between textile, tradition and trend. Ms. Venohr believes that the ethnic minorities in Germany and the ethnic minorities in China have great room for learning and communication in terms of cultural protection. She introduced the cultural industry in her hometown and explained the meaning of fashion and the German term “Tracht”.

Ms. Dagmar-yu Dembski made a cross-cultural comparison entitled "Patterns and Design on Traditional Local Textiles: An Intercultural Approach" Taking the ethnic minorities of Germany as an example, she introduced the textile design art of German minorities from the aspects of batik, blue prints and accessories, and conducted a comparative study with the textile design art of ethnic minorities in China.
