On April 30, 2015. Professor Fen Ling of Renmin University of China invited to deliver a lecture to our graduate students. The lecture is about: the Confucianism in contemporary film and television. The lecture was hosted by Professor Zihan Yu, the director of the Development Research Center of National Culture Industries in Guizhou Minzu University.

After the lecture, Professor Zihan Yu summarized, Professor Ling's lecture helped us to review Chinese traditional culture, the lecture provided us with a golden opportunity to appreciate the essence of traditional culture, especially on the comprehensive application of cultural study and comparative method. The lecture made students clear, how to interpret modern literary works with traditional culture; how to do comparative study by comparing novel and TV plays, foreign drama and Chinese drama, traditional culture and modern culture. Professor Yu also emphasized that the lecture allowed us to get closed to the mystery of philosophy and literature, and the connection between traditional culture and film art. All of these were meaningful to art teaching and study, and to art appreciation and creation.
