The Training Center for Engineering Technical Personnel of Guizhou University for nationalities was established in September 2013, mainly focusing on the field of experiment and practice teaching to undertake public elementary experiments as well as metalworking, electrical and electronic practice teaching tasks majored in science &technology in the whole university.
Withacurrent construction area of 6490㎡, the center under construction in Dangwu(new campus)withanengineering training building andanarts lab building willhavea total area of 30000㎡. The existing equipment is worth nearly 16 million yuan. The center has faculty with strong practical capability, of which the full-time staffinclude15 people,with anaverage age 30ofyears old, 3 with senior titles, 1 withPhDdegreeand6 with master degree background.
Based on the current condition of centre and the mindset of convenient management and resource sharing, we have integrated our laboratory resources and optimized the laboratory layout. The centre has facilitated:General AdminOffice,PublicEducationDepartment for Experiments (including Dongjiayan campus, computer labs and language labs in Dangwu campus), Dept. of physics experiment, Dept. of electronics& electrician, metalworking practice department, Dept. of modern manufacturing, Training department of virtual simulation, as well as Dept. for invention & innovation. The function of the Centre isto planandconstructthe labs and training rooms, public experiment teaching, research & management. Not just limited to the above, it also provides a platform for competition for students and offers a wide range of disciplines and research services. It is also the experiment platformforteachers and scientific research, and provides students with opportunities for internships. The supervision committee has undertaken the obligation of guidance and supervision for its curriculum construction and quality control.
The training center is working on the goal of talents training forGuizhouMinzu Universitytodetermine the training objectives of engineering and technical personnelin thepractice training center, and accordingly makehardware configurationand teaching staffplans. With support from the university, over the last year, the center has attractedacademictalent and conducted experiment courses.
The centre will take training applied undergraduatestudentsas the core of practice teaching idea, develop the innovative ability of application of practice teaching system, with efficient management mechanism, construction ofapractice teaching team, complete practice teaching environment and teaching conditionsandalways adhere to the quality of teaching.Makingfull use oftheequipment resources, the centerendeavors to make its own contribution to build our first-class university.
